INTRODUCTION

Unlicensed healthcare personnel (UHP) are valuable members of the healthcare team. They perform tasks that improve both the efficiency of the medical office and the patient experience. UHP should be appropriately hired, trained, and supervised to achieve the best outcomes.  Inappropriate delegation, supervision, or documentation can increase liability risks.
