Advanced Practice Provider Toolkit: Kentucky

Introduction

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) such as Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) are professionals trained, certified, and licensed to perform such functions as history taking, physical examination, diagnosis, and treatment of commonly encountered medical problems.

To practice as a NP in Kentucky, a current Kentucky APRN license, including a current national certification in a KBN approved population foci that is on file with the Board are required.
