Artificial Intelligence (AI) Scribe Checklist

Incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) scribes into your practice requires careful planning and implementation. The American Medical Association conceptualizes AI’s assistive role as a tool, emphasizing that its design:
  • Enhances human intelligence rather than replaces it,
  • reduces the burden of documentation within and outside of direct patient encounters,
  • enhances the physician-patient relationship, and
  • improves patient engagement by increasing the amount of time clinicians can interact with patients instead of a computer during the visit.
