Risk Management Guide: Treatment of Minors

If state laws do not specify the age of majority, the federal registry defines the age to be 18 years. With the exception of certain qualifying situations and treatment for specific medical conditions, medical offices in many states must obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian prior to treatment. Curi recommends referencing state-specific laws regarding age of majority before treating a minor. When can a minor make healthcare decisions?
