The Role

We are looking for an experienced leader in process innovation with strong critical thinking skills to join our Operations Innovation Department as Director, Business Process Innovation. In this role, you will be responsible for studying current business processes and developing new methods to improve productivity, increase customer satisfaction, and reduce operational costs. You will effectively manage multiple high-profile operational projects at one time while mapping existing workflows and recommending changes that align with the way Curi operates and its long-term performance goals. You will be responsible for project enhancements and working closely with the entire Curi team. The ideal candidate will possess a full range of communication skills that include effective communication with both our technical staff and our senior leadership. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing, mentoring, and providing guidance to project managers and process engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple, significant operational projects at a time from initiation to closeout
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders
  • Develop project plans to monitor and track progress
  • Develop tools and techniques to improve the overall management of projects
  • Mentor, train, and manage Project Managers and Process Engineers
  • Research, map, and analyze key business processes using techniques such as procedure mapping, stream graphing and workshops
  • Identify and prioritize meaningful process improvements, including recommending automation when applicable
  • Define metrics that measure process improvement success
  • Effectively design, communicate, and project manage process improvements and process reengineering projects
  • Work directly with IT on recommended system changes
  • Maintain process maps
  • Continually build cross-functional business operations acumen to elevate process improvement recommendations and project management
  • Learn corporate applications as necessary to fully support the business

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of work experience in program/project management and process mapping
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification
  • Experience organizing, presenting, and analyzing data
  • Experience leading/establishing process innovation teams and setting roadmaps that align with corporate objectives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency using process mapping tools such as Lucid Chart, Visio, and similar tools
  • Insurance and/or financial industry experience
  • Experience with and/or exposure to Robotic Process Automation
  • Familiarity with programming languages such SQL
