HHS OCR Clarifies That Practices May Contact Former COVID-19 Patients for Antibody Donation Under HIPAA Privacy Rule

The HHS Office of Civil Rights today issued guidance making clear that providers are permitted under the HIPAA Privacy Rule to contact their patients who have recovered from COVID-19 about donating their blood and plasma containing antibodies, to help other patients with the virus.
