COVID-19 Latest Updates and Resources

Will Curi allow physicians and APPs to drop down to part-time status during this time?

Curi will allow for part-time discounts immediately for physicians who qualify. Additionally, the minimum required time to be working part-time has been amended to 30 days, from the original 90 days. Once the pandemic crisis has passed and the physicians is back working full time, we will endorse the policy accordingly.

Part-time status is typically only available for physicians. However, throughout this National Emergency, we will also extend part-time status to APPs if they carry their own individual limits of coverage. If the APPs are sharing limits within a slot, Curi’s Underwriting Department will review these requests individually.

If you are also considering a leave of absence (LOA) for some of your providers, you can read more about how this will affect your policy here.

Please contact your agent or dedicated Curi representative with additional questions. Members may call 800-662-7917 to be connected with their designated Curi representative if they do not have the contact information on-hand.

All Curi recommendations are based on current CDC criteria at the time of publication. CDC guidance for SARS-CoV-2 infection may, or may not, be adopted by state and local health departments to respond to rapidly changing local circumstances. Providers should always check with their local health department to see if the CDC’s guidance on any given topic has been modified (particularly if more restrictive) from the CDC’s recommended guidelines. Follow this link https://www.cdc.gov/publichealthgateway/healthdirectories/index.html for contact information to your state/local health department. If local recommendations vary from those of the CDC, and you are unsure what recommendations to follow, then it is safer to follow the more restrictive guidelines/recommendations.
